OHIO HISPANIC BUSINESS SUMMIT
Presented by the Ohio Hispanic Chambers of Commerce
Ohio Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and Honorary Chair Louise J. Gissendaner, Vice President, Fifth Third Bank presented for the first annual Ohio Hispanic Business Summit on October 13, 2011. Along with Presenting Partners, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Nationwide, they presented an educational day designed to connect and engage both Hispanic and non-Hispanic business professionals to over 350 guests.
As a business advocacy organization representing the Hispanic chambers in Ohio, the Ohio Hispanic Chambers of Commerce is committed to foster economic growth and are an integral and vibrant part of the economic engine revitalizing our greater state of Ohio.
They do this by:
- Implementing local Hispanic chamber programs that strengthen the economic development of Hispanic firms;
- Increasing business relationships between the corporate and public sectors and Hispanic-owned businesses statewide;
- Advocating for legislation, policies and programs that affect the Hispanic business community; and
- Facilitating technical assistance to Hispanic business associations and entrepreneurs.
The Hispanic chambers connect their members to people, resources and information – all to support growth and prosperity. For many, name recognition and company promotion is an important connection. This is why our partners choose to be connected with the Hispanic Chambers of Commerce events. Our events are relevant, engaging and well-attended, which means heightened visibility for our partners and connections to business clients. A portion of the proceeds of the Ohio Business Summit will support programs of the local Hispanic chamber in Cincinnati,Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton and Toledo. Some of the programs are:
- Development Programs to assist Hispanic Business Owners with "Business Know How" courses and seminars;
- Laboratories for computer literacy and business related training; and
- Scholarship at Ohio universities and colleges designed to assist Hispanic students in pursuit of higher education.
